Computer Vision techniques assist in the process of classifying images and identifying defects in order to facilitate and streamline the process of analyzing information and importing it into databases, thus augmenting decision traceability and the completeness of patients’ medical histories.
Challenge
Unidental, a leading company in the dental sector, aims to standardize the analysis of orthopantomography (the most frequently used diagnostic test in the dental field), in order to improve the quality of its database and streamline the specialists’ diagnostic process.
A preliminary analysis found that more than 30% of non-urgent findings were not included in the diagnosis and treatment plan, limiting the financial potential of each patient.
Solution
Foqum focused its segmentation and classification functionalities on the detection of defects in panoramic images based on American Dental Association standards, analyzing more than 11 different types of findings and processing each image in less than 0.5 seconds with an accuracy over 90%.
