Challenge
The pivotal challenge lies in the timely and accurate identification and analysis of projects, precisely when their relevance is at its peak. This task intersects with a range of responsibilities of the professor, encompassing teaching, team leadership, and ongoing project management. The delicate act of balancing these multiple objectives becomes an urgent necessity to safeguard not only academic quality but also the profound impact that research can engender in an environment marked by intense competition.
Solution
This is where Foqum comes in. We have developed a web tool for recommending private companies and public research funding opportunities. The recommendation engine, based on Large Language Models (LLMs), analyzes research calls’ descriptions and matches them with professors’ interests. It also automatically downloads and structures calls from CORDIS or similar sources. The web interface presents shortlists of research funding opportunities with relevant information.
