Route Optimizer with Intermediate Stop Times Based on Minimization of Coverage Time for Visit Points.

In the logistics sector, route optimization and efficient supply chain planning are crucial elements for maximizing operational profitability and providing excellent service to customers. Organizations managing a network of multiple delivery points must implement advanced technological solutions that determine the most optimal itineraries, minimizing transportation costs and maximizing efficiency in distribution operations.
This challenge becomes even more complex when considering variables such as reception schedules, costs per kilometer traveled, delivery durations, and traffic restrictions, among other factors.
Our client, a leader in sales force management for product and service sales, point-of-sale signaling, and mystery shopping activities, required a robust route optimization solution that could comprehensively address these critical variables, generating coherent and cost-effective route plans.
Challenge
The main challenge was to develop a route optimization system capable of handling a very large list of stores distributed across different provinces. Additionally, the solution needed to incorporate and integrate various critical parameters into its algorithms, such as reception time windows, costs per kilometer traveled, and estimated dwell times at each point, among others.
The sheer volume of data and complexity resulting from numerous variables made a manual optimization approach unfeasible, necessitating an automated, scalable, and highly efficient solution from a computational perspective.

Solution
Foqum adapted its advanced route optimization algorithms into a solution that breaks down the problem by province to handle the large amount of data more effectively. The solution takes into account store schedules, transportation costs, and visit durations to calculate the most optimal route in terms of cost and time.
The system uses optimization algorithms that process all variables and generate the most efficient route for each province. Additionally, strategic intermediate stops were implemented to minimize the total coverage time of the visit points.
The result is a tool that not only saves time and reduces costs but also improves punctuality and operational efficiency. With this solution, INMARK can now automatically plan its routes, ensuring all store visits are made in the shortest possible time and at the lowest cost.
This optimization has resulted in a significant improvement in operational efficiency, allowing the company to provide better service to its customers while reducing operational expenses.
